My friend Mai has a family that is spread across countries and cultures. A wonderful mix of Australian, American, Chinese and Zimbabwean genes have created a bunch of people who breach the divides of beauty. So when Mai’s sister and her children flew in from the USA for a visit for the first time in years, they were quick to book me in for a shoot to capture them all together.
Mai didn’t want anything too structured or posed, so we visited a park in Glebe, took along a lot of fun things to do, and then they all just let rip. There was running, streamers, screaming, wild spinning and lots of laughter. This beautiful group of people became a swirling vortex of happiness and it was such a joy to watch.
If only we all looked this free and joyful, all the time…
