Imogen is the brand-new arrival of two long-time friends of mine, Simon and Bec, and I photographed her at only three weeks old, still tiny and fresh and wrinkly and completely lovely. Imogen is already so expressive and has such a serious little personality. Simon and Bec wanted a simple record of their baby’s first days, with no fancy poses or styling (my favourite kind of shoot!), so I went over for a coffee and, with my camera in hand, we had a happy chat in the bedroom while they cuddled their new little girl.
These images are born of total simplicity, and that is why they are some of my favourite newborn shots ever – just a sweet baby and her parents, loving and enjoying each others’ company.
