Shooting in the Hunter Valley area of New South Wales has always been a serious perk of my job – I love the scenery, the people, the horses, the relaxed atmosphere – I love pretty much everything about it. (You can see a previous shoot of a Scone maternity and newborns here and here!)
I photographed young Rory and his lovely parents when he was a wrinkly little newborn, and I was so honoured to be asked to come to document him at five months old. Family documentary photography has become my obsession and my passion, and I just can’t do anything photographically that makes me happier. Consider having a documentary photographer come and take natural, unposed photographs of your children and family, and watch them become treasured family heirlooms for generations to come. I know that Rory will look back on these images one day when he is older and love them.
My favourite part of this session was that Rory was asleep when I first arrived – I got to watch him wake up and capture the adorable “Huh?” look on his face as he opened his little eyes and said hello to the world. My favourite FAVOURITE part of that sequence is the little red handprint on his forehead. Bless.
In the Hunter Valley (Scone, Aberdeen, Muswellbrook, etc) area, and thinking about family photos? Email me right now to ask about my upcoming trip in June 2015. Create family heirlooms of your own that you can love forever.
